This is a free application that can broadcast live audio to Icecast or Shoutcast servers.  Edcast doesn’t require any other software to operate (hence the name ‘Standalone’), and is ideal for 24/7 live streaming environments such as streaming an AM/FM station over the internet.


Here are the steps on how to install Edcast Standalone

You will also need the following credentials:

  • Bitrate : 128 kbps
  • Quality: 0-10 (This value does matter when you use an OGG Vorbis encoder. Here http://www.vorbis.com/faq/#quality you can find the correspondence between quality and bitratesamplerate : 44100
  • Channels :2
  • Encoder type : Depending on your encoder used, you can choose the encoding of the stream that will play. We support MP3 and OGG Vorbis. You can check out how your system works and decide accordingly.

    Server type: Icecast2

    Server ip: link.radiojar.com

    Server port: 80

    Encoder password: The mount pass that you will see at the "Masterlink credentials" of your radio station. 

    Mount point: The mount point as seen at the broadcast link of your radio station
